I’ve heard my mom say that she got UTIs. I know she’s mentioned that she has them. But as I was growing up, I don’t even know if they even had a name for UTIs. Did they even talk about it?
As part of our True Customer Stories series, we bring you the full scoop from our customers—all about their history with UTIs, everything they've tried to prevent UTIs before Uqora, whether UTIs run in their family, and more.
We chatted with Uqora customer Lynn Muirhead (69 years old, pictured here with her grandson). Thanks so much for sharing, Lynn!
Where do you live?
Lynn: Hot Springs Village, AR
What do you like most about Hot Springs Village?
Lynn: I love the beauty. And I love to hike—there’s tons of hiking and lakes and everything anyone would want.
When did you first getting UTIs? How old were you?
Lynn: I can remember all the way back to my late teens, I would always get UTIs for whatever reason. I don’t know if it was for not drinking water, or what. Basically, I’ve always had them, but when I was 34 I had a complete hysterectomy, and from that point on, it seems like I’ve had a lot of issues. The last time I had a really bad one was while I was on vacation and I had to go to a walk in clinic because I had run out of Uqora, and I couldn't believe it. I had to take a strong antibiotic.
Do UTIs run in your family?
Lynn: I’ve heard my mom say that she got UTIs. I know she’s mentioned that she has them. But as I was growing up, I don’t even know if they even had a name for UTIs. Did they even talk about it?
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve tried for UTI prevention?
Lynn: When this really started happening to me when I was younger, I didn’t know how to get rid of it and I would go in the bathroom and run warm water in the tub to try and get some relief! But that was when I was young and I didn’t even know what was happening. It was horrible!
What’s your message to the other ladies out there who are struggling with UTIs?
Lynn: I would tell them that this is a great product, and it may or may not work for everyone, all of our systems are different, but this one has worked for me—someone who has always had UTIs.
It’s been so amazing for me. I honestly get anxious about running out. I would say give it a try because it’s worth it! And I’m just thrilled because I don’t worry about them so much anymore.
How did you find Uqora?
Lynn: I was searching online, I felt terrible, so basically I just searched online and kept thinking, what can I take for a UTI. And sure enough, y'all were there, and I’d never seen that before! And when I started hearing people's comments about it, and I thought I was in so much pain right now, and it was bothering me right now.
When do you drink Uqora?
Lynn: I have IBS, and when that shows up, it’s kind of like everything goes. If I’m bloated, it sits right on my bladder, and every time it turns into a UTI. I was always trying to find something, because when you have IBS, if you have to take antibiotics to get rid of a UTI, then it’s a cycle–you mess up everything, and then you get rid of one thing and then comes another. I know that I have to pay attention to drinking water, definitely, but when I read about your product, I thought, “I have got to try this.” I want to have something that I can run, mix it with water, and drink it and know that I can have some relief. It really does work.
As long as I don’t run out of Uqora, then I’m okay. There have been times I’ve run out, and then I do what I can do drink as much water as I can. I have found out that every time I go out of town, usually I’m not running to the bathroom like I would at home, and when that happens, next thing I know, I’ve got a UTI. I’m thinking this is a miracle drink. The first time I drank it, I thought how can something that tastes this good help you?!
